About the product

Conventin 100 Mg 30 Capsules

Description:

Conventin 100 mg 30 capsules is a prescription oral medicine containing gabapentin, an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain modulator. It is commonly used as an adjunctive therapy in the management of partial (focal) seizures and for the treatment of various types of neuropathic pain, such as diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia. Conventin is produced by Eva Pharma and is formulated in hard capsules for accurate dosing and reliable absorption. This product is intended for use under medical supervision and is suitable for adults and adolescents as directed by a healthcare professional.

Indications:

  • Adjunctive treatment of partial (focal) seizures with or without secondary generalization in adults and adolescents as prescribed by a physician.
  • Treatment of neuropathic pain, including conditions such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain following shingles), as directed by a doctor.
  • May be used in other neuropathic pain syndromes (e.g., radiculopathy, nerve compression pain) if recommended by a specialist.
  • Helps reduce symptoms such as burning, shooting, stabbing, tingling, or electric shock–like nerve pain.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Gabapentin – 100 mg per capsule.
  • Excipients (capsule fillers, stabilizers, capsule shell components) – exact composition and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the official package insert for full excipient list.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Use Conventin 100 mg only as prescribed by your doctor. Do not adjust the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
  • General adult dosing guidance for gabapentin (for reference – your doctor will individualize):
  • Initial dose in adults: 300 mg per day, then increased by 300 mg/day over the next 2 days up to 900 mg/day in 3 divided doses.
  • Maintenance dose in adults: typically 900–1800 mg/day in 3 divided doses, as directed by the physician.
  • Maximum daily dose: up to 3600 mg/day in 3 divided doses, only under strict medical supervision.
  • Adolescents (above 12 years): initial dose around 10 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses, then gradually increased until adequate therapeutic response is achieved, as determined by the treating physician.
  • Conventin capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • May be taken with or without food; taking with food can help reduce stomach discomfort in some patients.
  • Take doses at evenly spaced intervals (e.g., morning, afternoon, evening) to maintain stable blood levels.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
  • Do not stop gabapentin abruptly; the dose should be tapered gradually under medical supervision to reduce the risk of increased seizures or rebound pain.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Helps control partial (focal) seizures when used as adjunctive therapy, improving seizure management and overall quality of life.
  • Reduces neuropathic pain intensity, including burning, tingling, and shooting nerve pain associated with conditions like diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia.
  • Improves sleep quality in many patients by decreasing night-time nerve pain and discomfort.
  • May support better daily functioning and mobility by lowering chronic nerve pain and associated discomfort.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Use only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. This is a prescription medicine.
  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to gabapentin or any of the capsule components.
  • Use with caution in patients with kidney (renal) impairment; dose adjustment is often required. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease.
  • May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require alertness until you know how the medicine affects you.
  • Gabapentin has been associated with mood changes, depression, and rarely suicidal thoughts. Seek medical help immediately if you experience mood swings, unusual behavior, or suicidal ideation.
  • Abrupt discontinuation may increase seizure frequency or worsen neuropathic pain. Always taper the dose gradually as directed by your doctor.
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of substance abuse or dependence; gabapentin may have misuse potential in some individuals.
  • Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including antiepileptics, opioids, sedatives, antihistamines, and alcohol use, as these may increase drowsiness or interact with gabapentin.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Gabapentin should be used during pregnancy or lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical evaluation and prescription.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, unsteadiness, tremor, headache, and blurred or double vision.
  • Gastrointestinal side effects can include nausea, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea.
  • Other possible effects: weight gain, swelling of legs or ankles (peripheral edema), dry mouth, or mild mood changes.
  • Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention): severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing), severe dizziness, pronounced mood or behavior changes, suicidal thoughts, or severe skin reactions.
  • If any side effect becomes severe, persistent, or worrying, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
